Asokoro Hospital Discharges 10 Victims Of Nyanya Bomb Blast




No fewer than 10 victims of the Nyanya bomb blast who were receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the blast at the Asokoro General Hospital have been treated and  discharged.
The Secretary, FCT Health and Human Services Secretariat, Dr. Demola Onakomaiya disclosed this yesterday, when he received music icon, Oladapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D’banj who was at the hospital to visit the victims.
He explained that 26 victims were brought to the hospital on the day of the attack and 10 of them were fully treated and discharged and that the FCT administration took sole responsibility for the bills, feeding and psychosocial support for the victims.

music star’s visit to the victims, the secretary who described the war against terror in the country as everybody’s challenge said,
“mental, psychological and emotional balance is part of healthy living. Some of the victims were really excited seeing somebody like D’Banj. I hope people in the entertainment industry will come on board so they can unite in the music and movie industry to produce credible music that can fight terrorism in Nigeria because we need to create this sensitisation and awareness
“I implore everybody in the movie industry to come together and fight terror so that we can have zero tolerance for terror attack in Nigeria.”
Earlier, D’banj said he decide to visit the victims to let them know that they are not alone in this trying moment.
The artiste who shared moments with the bomb victims, challenged youths in the country to speak up and prepare their minds towards ensuring that terrorism does not continue in the country.
While noting that the country has not witnessed the kind of violence it currently experiences, he said one of the ways around the challenge was for the country to be returned to the time when citizens had value for human lives.
“Nigeria was not always like this. My view is that we have to take our destiny into our hands. I am imploring our youths; let us open our eyes,”  he added.
