THE Ebonyi State Police Command, yesterday, paraded a 30-year-old Nwode Chukwudi Awam, for beheading his father, Michael Awam, 56, and eating the victim's neck at Egwudinagu Obegu village in Ebonyi Local Government Area of the state.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Chris Anyanwu, said: 'The Ebonyi State Command has arrested Nwode Chukwudi, 30, who hails from Egwudinagu Obegu village in Ebonyi Local Government Area for beheading his biological father.
'The remains of the victim were deposited at the Federal Teaching Hospital, FETHA, mortuary for autopsy.
'When the police went for him, he was waving the machete which he used to cut his father's head and threatening to kill anybody that gets close to him. He was overpowered all the same.
'He ate the neck'
'He was seen eating the entire stub of the neck. So when you look at the exhibit, the head doesn't have the neck even though he did the beheading from the base of the shoulder. You will not see the part of the body that is supposed to be the neck; he ate it up.
'We can say that it is not unconnected with ritual because it does appear that he may have been asked to do such a thing.

Brutalized Poor Ijeoma
Whatever compelled pregnant Angela to beat up Ijeoma to a coma remains a puzzle. At the early hours of Tuesday, 15th of July 2014, little Ijeoma was brought to the women leader of a town in Delta state beaten, molested and totally torn out. As the saying goes, only the gods know how the cow without tail drives away flies. This is coming up at a period where the protection of the girl child is of top priority to the government of Nigeria. 11 years old Ijeoma was beaten up to pieces by her custodian, Angela who hails from Anambra but living in an Okpẹ town of Delta state.
The story had it that little Ijeoma was spotted fetching water at a well close to their Jeddo home without clothes on revealing brutal wounds on her body which spurred the curiosity of neighbours into querying Angela as to what happened to Ijeoma. Angela bluffed and replied very rudely to the neighbours which prompted the neighbours into taking the issue to the women authority of the community.
At the women's leader premises, the wicked woman said Ijeoma poops at random at anywhere she sees, littering where she trades with faeces. She continued that on the fateful day (sometimes last week) she unleashed brutality on Ijeoma, she had cautioned Ijeoma on a countless number of times without her heeding the warnings. That was when she used razor blade and whips to costume Ijeoma like she was casting an alien role for Star Wars. These pictures were taken a week after Ijeoma was 'costumed'. How would she be like when she was 'freshly' beaten?

Ebola: Husband of Spanish nurse quarantined

The husband of a Spanish nurse who on Monday became the first person known to have contracted Ebola outside of Africa has now been quarantined in the hospital, a Spanish health official said on Tuesday.
The nurse, who had helped treat two Spanish priests after they were repatriated to Madrid having contracted Ebola in Africa, tested positive for the virus on Monday.
“The husband is already in hospital and is being monitored so that he can have a quarantine situation with better monitoring,” a civil servant in charge of Spain’s health service, Mercedes Vinuesa, told a parliamentary committee.
Vinuesa gave no details about some 30 colleagues of the nurse who also treated the missionaries that died of Ebola at the Carlos III Hospital in Madrid.
A spokesman for the European Commission said the case, the first known case of Ebola spreading within a European country, would be discussed at a Health Security Committee meeting on Wednesday.
“The priority remains to find out what actually happened,” he said.
The nurse went on holiday immediately after the second of the missionaries she had been caring for died on September 25.

‘Abandoned girl not Chibok schoolgirl’

A teenage girl abandoned by her captors in Adamawa State about two weeks ago is not one of the schoolgirls abducted by the Boko Haram insurgents, the leader of the Chibok Elders Forum, Dr. Pogu Bitrus, has said.
The girl was abandoned at Mararraban Mubi in Hong Local Government and was feared to be one of the abducted girls.
She was reportedly dumped at an unidentified location from where she trekked for three days to a village near Mararraban Mubi, where she was found by villagers and taken to a police station. The girl was later moved to Abuja and kept in the custody of the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI).
It was learnt that to ascertain her true identity, leaders of the Chibok community in Abuja and the Vice Principal (Academics) of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, were brought to Abuja to identify the girl, who gave her name as Suzanna Ishaya.
However, it has been established that the girl was not one of the Chibok girls.
Bitrus said: “We have confirmed that she is not from Chibok and is not one of the girls abducted in April. She is in the custody of the security agencies.”
The Chibok leader said the girl might have been abducted in another location by Boko Haram insurgents and given in marriage to one of their commanders.
