Nigerian Man Arrested For Posing As a Woman

June 10, 2011 – If you pick this man lady as a date, your mind would probably be fantasizing on how good she might be in bed. But how shocked would you be when you get into the room to find out that those two pumped chest are 2 satchets of “pure water” in a bra, the ear-rings are glued to the ears and lady voice has turned baritone?
A 19-year-old man, ‘Leye Idris, is currently in police net in Lagos, Nigeria for parading himself as a woman.
Idris was apprehended when one of his clients suspected he was a fake hooker and raised alarm and was stripped of his “apparels”.
Idris explained that he took to the deceptive act to raise money for his education. ““I went into this act just last month because I needed money. I have tried menial jobs but much was not coming from it. My desperation to get money for my JAMB and I wanted to buy a part time form to University of Lagos made me to impersonate. I am not a gay; people tell me that I look like a woman and I have a feminine voice, so I thought I could use what I have to get what I want. I got the female clothes, shoes and bags from the market at Isolo where I live. My intention is that when I get the money for my part time form and my JAMB, I will quit. This man was my third victim, and I have made N20,000 from this deal.
“I intended to stop and go into teaching when school resumes, because I wanted to go to the university to study Accountancy, because I am a very brilliant boy.

Yahoo Yahoo Boys Hit Malaysia To Sell Kidney For N10 Million ONLY
Updated: Nov 2nd, 2011 – As we are all aware of the decline in income from what was once termed Yahoo Yahoo, internet scam the perpetrators have moved on to a more challenging, but lucrative and profitable scamming pattern called Yahoo Plus, and for those who don’t know what the aforementioned phrase means, it is simply the use of diabolical means to enhance their chances of collecting money and other material things from their victims.
However, as time has moved, so has contentment also grown slimmer amongst most street boys whose claim to affluence and wealth can only be traced to Yahoo Plus. And so, they moved on yet again to more risky ventures like traveling abroad to engage in one form of scam or the other. However, taking a deeper look at the implications of Yahoo Plus, Yahoo and even more desperate measures like Yahoo Plus Plus one would still be able to breath a sigh of relief when compared to the latest form of act that has just breezed into town. Information available to this magazine, revealed a new act being engaged in by Yahoo boys in town.
According to the information, Nigerian Yahoo boys only recently have taken to storming Malaysia to sell their Kidney. Investigations by this magazine revealed that this is the most recent form of Yahoo in town. A few minutes into the meeting, the dying HIV patient, without provocation, poured a whole tin of acid on the unsuspecting nurse.

How Boko Haram Started – Their Sponsors & History of The Jama’atul Ahlus Sunna Lid Da’awatis Jihad

Boko Haram Militants
Updated Nov 6, 2011  – How Boko Haram Started – Their Sponsors & History of The Jama’atul Ahlus Sunna Lid Da’awatis Jihad
The Islamic fundamentalist group, Boko Haram, has admitted of being responsible for the rise of Boko Haram, saying it started as a cell of the sect, officially called Jama’atul Ahlus Sunna Lid Da’awatis Jihad but named Boko Haram … of the northern elite who, under the pretext of sponsoring youngsters to study in the Middle East, sent them to terrorist training camps.
They thought they could manipulate Yusuf but he refused to tow the line, and in the end he was executed by the police, he explained. ‘Ifhe were alive, he would have spilled the beans on them. Nonetheless, we will reveal their identities at our convenience,’ said Teshako, who is also known as Yusufiyya after the slain leader.
According to him, the clashes between Boko Haram and security forces two years ago were the result of police provocation. The police had shot dead two of its members and wounded 20 more after they followed mourners to the burial ceremony.
The armed uprising that followed affected four northern states and claimed the lives of at least 300 people. ‘We are attacking police because they killed our brothers,’ Ibrahim Khalil Zarkawi, a Boko Haram leader told Bashir Ibrahim Idris of RFI’s Hausa service at the time. (www.naijan.com)
‘There isn ‘t good leadership in Nigeria. Muslims are being killed daily and the authorities are doing nothing about it. These are the reasons why we are retaliating against the police, because they are the ones who killed our brothers.’

30 Percent of World is Now Fat, No Country Immune

(LONDON, England)
Almost a third of the world is now fat, and no country has been able to curb obesity rates in the last three decades, according to a new global analysis.
Researchers found more than 2 billion people worldwide are now overweight or obese. The highest rates were in the Middle East and North Africa, where nearly 60 percent of men and 65 percent of women are heavy. The U.S. has about 13 percent of the world’s fat population, a greater percentage than any other country. China and India combined have about 15 percent.
‘‘It’s pretty grim,’’ said Christopher Murray of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, who led the study. He and colleagues reviewed more than 1,700 studies covering 188 countries from 1980 to 2013. ‘‘When we realized that not a single country has had a significant decline in obesity, that tells you how hard a challenge this is.’’
Murray said there was a strong link between income and obesity; as people get richer, their waistlines also tend to start bulging. He said scientists have noticed accompanying spikes in diabetes and that rates of cancers linked to weight, like pancreatic cancer, are also rising.
The new report was paid for by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and published online Thursday in the journal, Lancet.
Last week, the World Health Organization established a high-level commission tasked with ending childhood obesity.
‘‘Our children are getting fatter,’’ Dr. Margaret Chan, WHO’s director-general, said bluntly during a speech at the agency’s annual meeting in Geneva. ‘‘Parts of the world are quite literally eating themselves to death.’’ Earlier this year, WHO said that no more than 5 percent of your daily calories should come from sugar.
‘‘Modernization has not been good for health,’’ said Syed Shah, an obesity expert at United Arab Emirates University, who found obesity rates have jumped five times in the last 20 years even in a handful of remote Himalayan villages in Pakistan. His research was presented this week at a conference in Bulgaria. ‘‘Years ago, people had to walk for hours if they wanted to make a phone call,’’ he said. ‘‘Now everyone has a cellphone.’’
Shah also said the villagers no longer have to rely on their own farms for food.
‘‘There are roads for (companies) to bring in their processed foods and the people don’t have to slaughter their own animals for meat and oil,’’ he said. ‘‘No one knew about Coke and Pepsi 20 years ago. Now it’s everywhere.’’
In Britain, the independent health watchdog issued new advice Wednesday recommending that heavy people be sent to free weight-loss classes to drop about 3 percent of their weight. It reasoned that losing just a few pounds improves health and is more realistic. About two in three adults in the U.K. are overweight, making it the fattest country in Western Europe.
‘‘This is not something where you can just wake up one morning and say, ‘I am going to lose 10 pounds,’’’ said Mike Kelly, the agency’s public health director, in a statement. ‘‘It takes resolve and it takes encouragement.’’

Interpol: We are trying to block Boko Haram from selling abducted girls
The head of Interpol told ABC News that he has no information to confirm or dispute the assertion earlier this week that top officials in Nigeria know the location of the 200 school girls kidnapped by Boko Haram .
'Interpol doesn't know where these 200 girls are and, if the Nigerian defense minister knows where they are, it hasn't been shared with Interpol,' Ronald Noble, the secretary general of Interpol, said in an exclusive interview with ABC News.
Noble said he could understand the logic, as explained by Nigeria's Air Marshal Alex Badeh, that a rescue has not been attempted because of the danger to the girls, though he has no idea if that claim is accurate either.
'I can tell you what everyone knows: That this terrorist group, Boko Haram, is one of the most notorious, vicious terrorist groups out there. And for them to kill these 200 girls or others very easily, very quickly, there's no doubt about it. So, if the Nigerian defense ministry does know where they are, I can certainly understand why they want to be careful before moving in to rescue these young girls.'

In addition to offering technical assistance to Nigerian officials, Interpol has also blanketed the region with warnings and photos of the abducted girls to make it harder for Boko Haram

Democracy Day: Bomb scare in Abuja
Residents of Kurudu, a community on the outskirts of Abuja, panicked on Thursday morning when an explosion, thought to be from a bomb, was heard.
The explosion caused panic in Kurudu, Jikoyi and other adjoining areas as citizens scampered for safety.
However, the spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Olajide Olaleye, explained that the explosion was a 'controlled blast', noting that a rock had been blocking a new road being constructed from Karishi to Apo, in the Abuja city centre, was blasted, with dynamites, to allow construction progress.
He then called on residents to remain calm.
The Federal Capital territory, Abuja and its surrounding communities have been on alert following bomb blasts in Nyanya, planted by the Boko Haram sect, which led to the death of over 100 people.

Jonathan declares amnesty for Boko Haram
President Goodluck Jonathan has granted amnesty to the members of the dreaded Islamist sect, Boko Haram, but on the condition that they will embrace peace and drop their arms.
Minister of Youth Development, Boni Haruna, disclosed this Thursday during a special event tagged: 'A day with young leaders of Nigeria,' organised to mark this year's Democracy Day at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
Haruna urged the sect members to take the advantage of the amnesty and lay down their arms.
He saud that series of programmes had been be mapped out to fully reintegrate those that would embrace peace into the society.
According to him: 'President Goodluck Jonathan has also declared amnesty for members of the Boko Haram sect.
'Series of integration programmes have been lined up for the members of the sect who would surrender their arms and embrace peace.
'Let me use this opportunity on behalf of the Federal Government to call on the members of the Boko Haram sect to embrace the government's gesture and key to amnesty programme.'
Haruna recalled that the government had extended similar gesture to the militants in the Niger Delta a few years ago to curb restiveness.

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan speaks to the media on the situation in Chibok and the success of
President Goodluck Jonathan said Thursdya he had ordered 'a full-scale operation' against Boko Haram Islamist militants.
The president, while reassuring parents of 219 schoolgirls being held by the group that their children would be freed, said he had authorized security forces to use any means necessary under the law to ensure that Boko Haram, which operates in the country's northeast, is defeated.
Jonathan in a televised speech on Thursday on the occasion of Nigeria's Democracy Day, celebration, said: 'I am determined to protect our democracy, our national unity and our political stability, by waging a total war against terrorism.'
It was not immediately clear what such an offensive might entail, given that the northeast of the country has been under a state of emergency and a full scale military operation for a year. Nigerian forces are also hugely overstretched.
Chad's President Idriss Deby also used the phrase 'total war' after neighboring West African states met in Paris in mid-May to seek a common strategy to fight the militants.
'I assure you that Nigeria will be safe again and that

My name is Blessing Ejeh, a Mass Communication student of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi. I lost my immediate younger sister, Shekinah to the Jos bomb blast of May 20.

She already had all that she needed to take to school for the resumption of the new semester. But some of her friends called her to help them to get some fanciful second-hand caps which they had seen her

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • Mexico says it arrested Zetas regional boss Carlos Oliva Castillo
  • He was as high as third in the organization
  • Cartel members tried to rescue him from authorities
(CNN) -- A top Zetas drug cartel leader -- who allegedly ordered the attack and arson at a casino that killed 52 -- has been captured, Mexican defense officials said Thursday.
Carlos Oliva Castillo, alias "La rana," or frog, was arrested Wednesday at a safehouse without a single shot being fired, the country's Ministry of Defense said.
Possibly the No. 3 man in the criminal organization, Oliva Castillo allegedly oversaw criminal operations for the cartel in three Mexican states. He was captured in Saltillo, Mexico.
Though he was arrested without incident, the cartel tried to distract troops by attacking security forces in different parts of the city, the defense ministry said.
The Zetas' rescue ploy failed.
According to officials, Oliva Castillo was "the principal manager" of the ruthless Zetas in the states of Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas. He was also described as a confidant of Zetas boss Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano.
Oliva Castilo began working for the Zetas in 2005 in Tamaulipas, the defense ministry said, and rose through the ranks quickly.

According to the WHO office in Sierra Leone, one additional infection has been registered, without saying when the infections or deaths occurred.

Koindu borders on the Gueckedou region in neighbouring Guinea, where eight new Ebola cases were registered on Friday.

Lagos spot that serves hot, spicy snake meat pepper soup

At the mere mention of a snake, most people take to their heels, filled with a justifiable dread of the creepy animals. But on the other side of the divide are people who consider pepper soup made from meat of certain types of snakes a delicacy to die for and never pass up an opportunity to relish it.
You will not find Bright Omoruyi, a dermatologist, among the people who love eating snake meat, because to members of his lineage it is an abomination that is strictly forbidden. But for connoisseurs of the creepy animal, No 8, Alafia Street, Baba Ijebu bus stop in Meiran community, Lagos is a must-visit snake meat peppersoup spot, where they unwind after a hectic day.
As would be expected, debates over topical issues and the performance of European soccer stars take centre stage as the patrons happily munch pieces of well-cooked portions of boa constrictor or python meat, both of which are the snakes of choice prepared by the owners of the joint. Among the Yoruba, these the boa constrictor is known as mono mono.
Providing snake meat pepper  soup is not a business for just about anybody or the lily-livered. The primary reason is that it requires a certain expertise to make the dish fantastic for customers. The method of preparation of the dish determines whether customers would accept the outcome.
