Army strikes suspected insurgents camps in Bauchi
The Nigerian Army has bombed suspected insurgents camps located in parts of Bauchi State, local and security sources says.
Residents of Soro in Ganjuwa Local Government Area and Darazo in Darazo Local Government Area  said the bombing started between five to eight o'clock in the morning.
They said that they heard loud sounds of explosives towards the forest where insurgents camps were reportedly located.
Some communities who pleaded anonymity for security reasons said the loud sound and vibration shook the ground and wall buildings of their houses....


They said  shortly after the explosive sounds were heard, they saw military aircraft bearing Nigerian flags hovering in the sky of their town before they flew out of visibility.

 A reliable security source in the state confirmed that the army has started operations in the forest but did not give details of the operation adding that the exercise was carried out without creating panic among the inhabitants of the forests.
The security source said foot soldiers will also mop off the forest in order to arrest some of the suspects in the bush.

It was  reported that a sizeable number of armed men have been operating in the Balmo forests in Darazo,  Burra in Ningi, Soro in Ganjuwa and  forests between Zara-Miya,also in Ganjuwa and two separates  boarder forest one between Bauchi and Gombe State and also between Bauchi and Jigawa State. A camp was also located in Yuga forest in Toro local government area of Bauchi State.
