The
abandoned vehicle without number plates was parked close to the Kubwa
mosques around 7 am this morning, Daily Trust gathered.
According to witnesses many residents and passersby started running afraid that the vehicle is a car bomb.
Eventually
the area was cordoned by the police anti bomb squad who were called in
by the Imam of the mosques to investigate the mysterious vehicle.
The
spokesperson of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, DSP
Altine Daniel told Daily Trust no explosive device was found in the
area.
She
said the vehicle has been towed by the police of the Kubwa Division,
noting that the owner of the vehicle might be a cylinder seller and
decided to leave the vehicle there after it might have developed a
fault.
Also
speaking, chief Imam of Kubwa Central mosque Sheikh Abdulmumini Ahmad
Khalid, said he alerted the police around 9 am and they immediately
responded.
The
FCT police spokeswoman DSP Altine... Daniel added that a directive from
the Commissioner of Police for the FCT, Joseph Mbu ordered all abandoned
vehicle to be scanned.
